14 DAY TRIAL // Acer was one of the companies that announced plans to come to the market with handsets running under Microsoft's new Windows Phone Mango operating system, and the Acer W4 smartphone seems to be their first device to sport the new platform.
Softpedia stumbled upon the mobile phone at the IFA 2011 show in Berlin, and decided to take a few photos of it, so as to offer you the chance to have a look at the new device too.
Packing a fast Qualcomm MSM 8255 1GHz application processor inside, the new mobile phone sports a 3.6-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA 480 x 800 pixel resolution, and should be released on shelves sometime in October.
HTC's newly unveiled HTC Radar and TITAN are expected to arrive on the market in October as well, and it seems that other Windows Phone Mango handsets are also set for release during that month.
For the time being, Acer did not offer specific info on the price tag the new device would sport, but it should not be a too high one, that's for sure.
The mobile phone will arrive on shelves with 8GB of internal memory (again no mentioning of a microSD memory card slot), as well as with a five-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus and LED flash.
The specifications list of this device also includes HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2.0 Mbps, support for HSPA 850/1900 or 900/2100 /GSM quad band 850/900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz frequencies, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as DLNA Support.
The Acer W4 is also capable of delivering great multimedia capabilities, along with fast Internet browsing and support for playing games via Xbox LIVE. Bing Search and Bing Maps will also be available for users of this mobile phone, as well as fast access to social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter.
