Ubisoft is busy

Ubisoft is getting busy. As the 2009 gaming year gets into speed, the French publisher is lining up games set to debut in Match, creating a phalanx of titles that could appease all the playing needs of a gamer. Just take a look at what the company is ready to offer.

I Am Alive is a title we don’t know much about, as the initial trailer presented at E3 2008 only showed a bit of a showdown over water in a destroyed Chicago. The game is developed by the same team that created Cold Fear and its members say that I Am Alive will offer the player a chance to experience the tension and despair which creep up as you play a survivor of a destructive Chicago earthquake. The title will focus on how society breaks down following catastrophes. Weapons will be rare and ammo scarce and many fights can be avoided by the player if he wishes. There's probably a bigger picture beyond the idea of simply surviving but Ubisoft does not say more about the game at the moment.

March will also see the release of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X, a flight simulator set to be the first game in the new shared Tom Clancy universe that Ubisoft is planning to create by using properties like GRAW, Rainbow Six or EndWar. H.A.W.X will allow the player to configure the level of detail he wants to experience and has a chance to revive the combat flight sim genre.

The PC version of the strategy title EndWar is also coming in March, with the much lauded voice controls that can now only be experienced on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

Ubisoft is also getting ready to release Tenchu: Shadow Assassins for the Nintendo Wii. We don't have the exact dates for these games at the moment, but the publisher will likely release them soon enough.
