Those at Blizzard must really be naive to have left all this in the open

Word on the street is that a group of modders who know their way with a game's code (be it in a Beta stage) have recently uncovered what looks like new content in Halo 3. Digging into the Halo 3 Beta code they apparently found mention of several new weapons, vehicles, and new names for medals such as Double Kill. The full list of goodies found came straight from Xbox 360 Fanboy. Here it is:

Vehicles:

- Pelican - Shadow - Phantom - Chopper

Weapons:

- Flamethrower (the site says Bungie's Frank O'Connor hinted at this in his interview with Joystiq some while ago) - Plasma turret - Claymore grenade (a possible codename for Spike Grenades?) - Covenant Gun Tower (possibly a new kind of turret?)

Equipment items/Power-ups:

- Jammer (possibly the radar scrambler shown in a leaked video) - Invincibility - InstaCover - Smoke (smoke what? Xbox 360 Fanboy asks the same)

New Medals:

- Killocalypse - Killionaire

Invincibility huh...? How is that so new if I may ask? What, if they called it "invincibility," then that means it's a new feature? I must be losing touch with games today because my brain says there's absolutely no game out there that doesn't feature an Invincibility cheat, code... whatever, even if it's a bug/glitch.

I have to say it looks like an awful lot of new content Bungie seems to have added. Could all this be true? No, let me rephrase that: could Bungie have implemented code that shouldn't under any circumstances be accessed, thus revealing what the full game is all about? Or maybe they did it on purpose to further fuel the existing fire... Gamers love to believe that they were the first to have discovered a glitch or a secret level or something, but then again, the list of new features may very well be true. There's nothing there indicating that it wouldn't be possible with Halo 3.

Be sure to check back soon for when we have some more info on this appealing rumor.
