Matrix Games, well known for publishing titles such as Guns of August, UFO: Extraterrestrials and the Gary Grisby's series of games, has just announced the release of Hornet Leader demo for PC. You can download the demo of this turn-Based-top-down-squadron simulator, for your personal collection, right HERE.

According to the official report, Matrix Games and Dan Verssen Games claim that the short but sweet trial version of the game includes all changes and improvements with the recently released 1.1 update and will give prospective air commanders the chance to engage in a fictional skirmish with Syria set in the year 2000.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said "This demo will give any pilots still debating whether or not to take to the skies the extra encouragement to kick the tires and light the fires. The skirmish scenario included in the demo is among my favorite engagements. Prospective pilots won't be disappointed!"

Dan Verssen of Dan Verssen Games also added, "The community that has developed after the initial release of Hornet Leader PC has been great source of support in our efforts to make Hornet Leader PC all that it can be. With the help of Matrix in promoting and distributing the demo, I'm confident that the community will grow even larger to the benefit of all people involved with this great game."

Gameplay features include

Easy to learn, fast playing, built-in Help screens Beautiful screens giving the player quick access to all needed data 3 real world campaigns with appropriate targets and defenses 6 Difficulty levels Realistic air combat and weapon capability modeling Wide selection of real aircraft weapons Wide variety of enemy air and ground defenses Cause and Effect campaign system that modifies enemy capabilities based on the outcome of each mission Pilot experience system to improve skills Access to cutting edge weapon systems

Basically, each pilot has his own set of unique skills and abilities. Of course, with each mission, skills increase, but so does the fatigue level, so this is where it gets tricky. You must decide how to coordinate your squadron. You will fly high intensity missions over Iraq, Libya, and North Korea from 1991 to 2007, while your weapon selection for each campaign is updated to accurately match the weapons available for that era.
