We should face it by know, consumer electronics manufacturers from all over the world will do just about anything in order to get you to purchase their products, going as far as rolling out certain products that will prove useful for some pretty petite market niches, and that's exactly the case with the photo accessory you'll read about as follows, namely the Hoodman Raw Steel SD Memory Card.

As Slashgear informs us, what really sets this thing apart from pretty much all of the other SD cards available out there is the fact that it has been equipped with a metal plate, placed on its front side, ensuring that the card (and consequently, the data stored onto it) is protected at all times, even when going through some pretty serious shocks.

Furthermore, it seems that the manufacturer, the Hoodman company, decided to build this thing using epoxy, which means that the card is also waterproof, beside being able to take some serious shocks.

Unfortunately, very little technical information have been provided regarding the new toughed-up SD cards from Hoodman, apart from the fact that they'll apparently provide a 16GB storage capacity, while in the same time being rated as a Class 10 card from the point of view of the speed.

Now, as you can imagine, the number of market segments where such a product would prove to be useful is rather limited, because this storage device would most certainly appeal mostly to those people who take photos mostly in potentially dangerous situations.

However, as mentioned right from the title, we believe Iron Man would be a pretty good customer, his costumer's built-in camera (he must have one, for sure) being a perfect fit to this card.

What's that you say? Iron Man's a comic book character? Well, yeah, but that doesn't make him less real, does it now?
