Perhaps not many remember the name of Alana Thompson, but the nickname of Honey Boo Boo Child must surely ring a bell. Famous for her antics on “Toddlers & Tiaras” and her love of the “go go juice,” Alana has just landed her own spinoff on TLC.

For those not up to speed with “Toddlers & Tiaras” or the little stars it helped break into the spotlight, below is the original clip that introduced Alana and her “Coupon Queen” mother.

Later on, as we also noted at the time, her mother made headlines after cameras captured her giving the kid a concoction she called “the go go juice,” with high sugar and caffeine contents, to get her through the beauty competitions.

Now, Alana and her family will be the stars of a brand new TLC show, one that, unlike “Toddlers & Tiaras,” will no longer focus on the kiddie pageants universe.

The new show, called “Honey Boo Boo Child,” premieres on August 8 and will have six episodes of half an hour for the first season.

The premiere episode will air at the same time with Alana's second “Toddlers & Tiaras” episode, as a post on the little star's Facebook page mentions.

“Each episode follows Alana and her family: stay-at-home mom June, chalk-mining dad Sugar Bear, and sisters 12-year-old Lauryn 'Pumpkin,' 15-year-old Jessica 'Chubbs,' and 17-year-old pregnant Anna 'Chickadee',” TLC says in a statement.

“'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' takes us off the pageant stage and into the unapologetically outrageous family life of the Honey Boo Boo clan,” the network further promises.

As noted above, Alana's mom caused quite a stir when her daughter was still on the show, since she kept insisting that she wasn't doing anything wrong by giving her daughter the “go go juice.”

It was part Red Bull and part Mountain Dew, and it was meant to help the kid be active and lively during the long hours on the pageant competitions.

She also said she could be doing much worse – like, she could be giving her daughter “pageant crack” (lots of sugar) to get the same result.
