Matrix Games announce that they are releasing a new game update for Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge, getting the title to version number 1.07.001. There have been a lot of balance oriented changes and at least one very important bug has been fixed by developer TriSinergy. The patch is available for download on the Softpedia site.

The 1.07.001 update fixes a lot of small problems that appeared within the game and were quickly reported by players or caught by the development team. The main fix implemented addresses the “vanishing squad” icon bug. The developers are also diminishing the restrictions put upon the in game camera in order to allow the player to zoom in further and to pan more while in tactical mode to make battle planning and battle movement easier.

The Artificial Intelligence powering the enemies has also been tweaked so that they use less grenades but with better accuracy, so keeping your mercs tightly together is no longer a viable strategy. The players who have already advanced far into the game will see that weapons are more lethal and that both armor and weapons show up more frequently in the store. Whether you choose “Newbie” or “Mercenary” difficulty, the game should be better balanced.

Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge was previously known as JAZZ: Hired Guns and Jagged Alliance 3D. The game aims to become a spiritual successor to the 1998 launched Jagged Alliance II, a title that created a very well balanced turn based squad shooter. You need to hire mercenaries that will fight for you, secure a revenue stream and fight your way out of a lot of tricky situations, upgrading the equipment you carry and making sure you always outsmart the enemy. Update to 1.07.001 now to get the most out of Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge.
