BioShock was a great game, gaining critical acclaim with its innovative control system, the deep and intricate story and the moral issues that it raised in the unique society of Rapture, the underwater city in which the action is placed.

The game sold incredibly well last year, when it was launched for the PC and Xbox 360, and now, after the launch of the PlayStation 3 version, people got the chance to see the trailer for the sequel to this popular game. Besides this trailer, PS3 users will be getting a few more features, to justify the year they had to wait until they could play the game on their console.

Among these new features, one of the most expected ones is the Challenge Rooms, which will give players new tasks, different from the ones in the story of the game, and put their minds to the test. 2K Games, the publisher of this title, has just announced that the first three Challenge Rooms will be released on the PlayStation Network on November 20. Users who want to download this pack will have to pay 9.99 dollars in order to enjoy this new BioShock feature.

Also, for players interested in gaining trophies, each of the three rooms will have its own individual achievements, which can be unlocked through "smart thinking and resourceful playing," meaning that gamers are really going to get creative with solving the challenges. Here are the details on each room, as found in the 2K Games press release, posted on Kotaku:

"A Shocking Turn of Events – A Little Sister is trapped atop a Ferris wheel in an undisclosed location in Rapture. Using only the tools and environment around them, players must use their wits to create electricity to power the Ferris wheel and bring the Little Sister to safety.

The I in Team – Using limited resources, and an even more limited arsenal, players must negotiate traps and find a way to defeat a Big Daddy using their wits instead of raw firepower.

Worlds of Hurt – Step up and take on the most grueling challenge offered in the world of Rapture. Players must battle through eight rooms of Big Daddies, Splicers and the worst that Rapture has to offer. Accumulate Adam, build an arsenal of Plasmids, Tonics and Weaponry, and fight through to rescue the Little Sister."

All in all, these rooms definitely sound interesting and are sure to keep BioShock fans entertained while they will wait for the next title in the series, entitled BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams.
