But you’ll have to wait for it

When the announcement came that BioShock, which was a hit last year on the Xbox 360 and on the PC, would also come to the PlayStation 3, more than  12 months after its initial launch, a lot of people were surprised. Of course, there might be a few die hard Sony fans who would welcome the game, but sales would likely be low.

Well, a recent announcement coming from 2K Games might change all that. They are saying that the PS3 version of their hit will get exclusive downloadable content on November 20, in the form of Challenge Rooms. These are basically new portions of the under sea city of Rapture, not seen before and which are not connected in any way to the main story of the game. The self contained areas will present the player with advanced challenges, from enemies to puzzles, which will test his playing skills and his mental power. 2K Games is not saying how much the new DLC will cost, but be ready to pay from 10 to 15 dollars for it.

The new PlayStation 3 version of BioShock has already included all the patches that have arrived for the other versions. You can turn the Vita chambers off if you are looking for a tougher challenge and you can also earn some Trophies in the game. When you complete it, you will also be given a chance to see the first trailer available for BioShock 2.

The trailer shows what seems to be a Little Girl, without the usual Big Daddy companion who looks at the sea while a city resembling Rapture is being built from sand near her. Initial reports said that the game would be a prequel, but the trailer seems to suggest that it will be a continuation of the first BioShock, with the citizens of Rapture arriving on the Atlantic coast.
