The game isn't even out yet

The PlayStation 3 version of the very successful game BioShock is set to appear on October 17 for PAL territories and in the United States on October 21. Recently, the demo of this game has been up for download on the PlayStation Network. Although it has been up for a short time, some players have already complained about the fact that characters from the game, especially the Big Daddies, appeared pixelated, thus ruining much of the gameplay from a visual standpoint.

The developers at 2K Games have paid attention to the gamers’ complaints and have already made a patch which would address the issues. Although the patch is done, it still has to go through the testing and certification processes in order to be made public for all the players out there. According to their official forum, the patch will probably hit the PSN after it gets Sony's approval, most probably after the game is officially released.

Here are the main issues fixed by this patch:

Big Daddy Bouncer and Elite Bouncer Textures Appeared Pixelated

Fix for an issue where large blocky pixels would show up whenever viewing the Bouncer and Elite Bouncer variants of the Big Daddy.

White Bars

Fix for an issue where white/discolored bars would show up at the right and bottom sides of the screen during the plane crash / water scene at the beginning of the game.

Although the glitches were pretty minor, it's a good thing that the developers took account of the user complaints and fixed them. BioShock has offered a great gaming experience on the Xbox 360 or PC and it's only fair that the PS3 owners get the same great game, even after almost a year of waiting.

Among the things which will differentiate this version from the other ones on the market is a new difficulty mode, entitled Survivor, which gives gamers a bigger challenge while playing. Also, Challenge Rooms will appear as arenas where the gamers will encounter massive amounts of enemies to test their forces. But until next week, PS3 owners have to wait a bit to explore the underwater city of Rapture.
