Heidi Montag, though usually known for her and husband Spencer Pratt’s many staged photo-ops with the paparazzi (allegedly), has recently gotten plenty of attention from the international media for undergoing 10 different surgical interventions in one single day and, in the end, becoming an entirely different person from her former 23-year-old self. The latest episode of “The Hills” shows Heidi’s mother reaction to her daughter’s completely transformed looks, while Heidi has a minor breakdown over it, as People’s TV Watch can confirm.

A preview for the episode in question showed Montag having dinner with her family and literally struggling with chewing a bite of a burger, and finally admitting defeat as her mom and sister mocked her over it. A new scene shows Heidi’s mother downright saying that she does not like what her daughter has done to her face for the obvious reasons: she looks like Barbie, and a similarity with a lifeless doll is not something anyone should aspire to, and she looks nothing like her old self. To this, Heidi responds with an emotional breakdown.

“Heidi headed to her family’s home in Crested Butte, Colo., to face her mother, Darlene Egelhoff, for the first time since getting 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. ‘You act like I have a new face or something,’ Heidi said when she sat down for a chat. ‘Well, that’s pretty much what it is,’ her mom said. ‘It takes a little getting used to. It’s very weird and very awkward. I’m sorry.’ Still recovering, Heidi spoke in low tones as she told Mom and her sister Holly all the work she had done. ‘It sounds to me like you want to look like Barbie,’ her mother said. ‘I do want to look like Barbie.’ ‘Why would you want to look like Barbie? To everybody else that saw you, you were Heidi. Nobody in the world could have looked like Heidi Montag’,” People writes of the conversation between mother and daughter.

And this is where the discussion takes an unexpected turn, as Heidi asks her mother if what she’s saying is that she doesn’t like how she looks. “How do I go and say that of course I thought you were more beautiful before? I thought you were younger, I thought you were fresher-looking, I thought you were healthier. What’s done is done, so that’s a terrible thing for me to say but, yes, that’s how I feel. I felt that you were much more beautiful before and I hope that some of this will fade away,” Egelhoff says.

To this, Heidi bursts into tears, telling her mother she doesn’t really have to support what she’s done or, for that matter, believe she looks better for it. However, as a mother, the very least she could do is to show some understanding for what she (Heidi) has been through, the reality star says, almost chocking on her tears. “You have to realize what I’ve been through. You have to realize that I’ve been through so much pain, and coming here and having you attack me is just really hard… Mom, this is what I chose and there’s nothing that I can take back,” Heidi says.
