The what seems to be the best PlayStation 3 game so far (in my opinion) has just gotten dated. Heavenly Sword will come on the 6th of March 2007 in the US but no word is out yet on the Japanese and European release dates. This information has appeared on Sony Computer Entertainment of America's website.

Judging from the E3 trailer, the game looks absolutely great, the fighting combos are spectacular, the camera angles dazzling, not to mention the mind blowing graphics. But don't take my word for it, you can check out the graphics for yourself, just take a look at the high-definition screens at the bottom of the article.

The game is developed by Ninja Theory, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The storyline concerns a girl with only a few days left to live who embarks on one final act of redemption against a king and his invading army. Heavenly Sword uses a state of the art technology and it shows. The gameplay takes you through "a roller coaster of emotion and actions that truly exploits the potential of gaming as the new artistic entertainment medium", or at least that is how Ninja Theory describes their game.

The main character of the game is Noriko, a red-headed beauty who was nicknamed "Goddess of War" after several E3 critics observed similarities between her and "God of War". In the game, she has one main weapon, but this weapon can turn into many weapons, melee and ranged ones. So far, they have revealed a chainlike weapon, 2 separate swords and one big sword (Koriko's main weapon).
