Things are certainly moving fast for Hanvon since just a few days after we brought you the first news about their future color e-Ink reader, the company has made it available for pre-order starting at $528, shipping being scheduled to begin in February 2011.

Available with WiFi or 3G, this is the first large-screen high-resolution color e-book that goes into the retail channel, the company stating that its Triton screen “can restore the true feelings of paper reading to a greater degree.”

For those of you that don't remember, this eReader comes with a large 9.7 inch screen that is capable of displaying various colors and basic animations, while also coming with a pen and finger operated touchscreen and a new window-type user interface for greater ease of use.

Although the screen still isn't fast enough for displaying video content or games (apart from some pretty basic ones), Hanvon markets this as a great tool for on the go professional, touting its ability to display and edit PowerPoint presentations.

Other features were not disclosed until now, although we do know this comes pre-installed with a notes taking app, an address book program as well as text-to-speech functions and Chinese-to-English translation, its touch sensitive display together with handwriting technology allowing users to comment modify and leave notes on books and other documents.

As I mentioned earlier, the company has started taking pre-orders for the tablet, the WiFi-only version being priced at 3,500 yuan (about $528) while the 3G model can be yours for 3,800 yuan ($574), pretty steep prices if you ask me.

Unfortunately, pre-orders will be available only in certain parts of the world for now and, although it's still unclear what other countries are included apart from China, US and Canada are not among them, Hanvon's tablet being expected sometime during March 2010 as we previously reported.
