It seems like LED-backlit monitors based on IPS technology are really popular now. Almost all new TVs and monitors use the technology. Recently, NEC has introduced a panel of this type, and now HannsG is doing the same.

In fact, HannsG has formally launched three monitors, not just one. And they are called HS271HPB, HS241HPB, and HS221HPB.

The first in the trio has a price of £179.99 / $302 / €223. The second one costs £119.99 / $201 / €148, and the third one is a product of “only” £94.99 / $159 / €118.

In that same order, the newcomers have screen sizes of 21.5 inches, 23 inches and 27 inches, respectively.

All three have wide viewing angles of 178 degrees thanks to IPS technology, as we said. More importantly, they boast HannsG's very own ACTIVE contrast ratio technology, which maximizes color sharpness.

Multi-Video mode is supported as well, allowing you to have multiple sources linked to your display at the same time, via the HMDI 1.4, VGA and DVI-D inputs.

Furthermore, HannsG has included calibration presets like “Movie” and “Game.”

Finally, like any self-respecting monitor, the new HannsG HS Series have integrated speakers, even though they're unlikely to ever put them to use. Few are the folks who don't own a speaker or a headphone set. Sales should begin this month.
