Among the handsets presented at CeBIT that offer some kind of innovation there is the Sanyo W41SA phone. The mobile doesn't have a multi-megapixel camera like many handsets do, but it can perform extra tricks with the built-in 1.3 megapixel camera.

The Sanyo W41SA supports handwriting recognition and photo merging. This means that you can make annotations on photographs by writing something on a piece of paper, then taking its picture and the phone will add the writing to the selected photo. The scanned text's color can be changed if the user wishes so.

Another interesting feature is the ability to use the phone as a fully functional TV remote control.

Apart from the innovations, the Sanyo W41SA is a CDMA phone measuring 49mm ? 99mm ? 21mm in size and weighing 108g, featuring a large 2.3 inches QVGA TFT display. The handset allows high data transfer speeds using the EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) communication standard.

For the entertainment part it offers a music player and FM radio. With the voice recorder application the user can store up to 12 hours of sound in ACC format on the 50 MB of internal memory, expandable via miniSD cards. The battery provides 210 minutes of talk time and 230 hours in standby.

The handset is available for the moment only in Japan via the mobile carrier KDDI.
