Halo 4 is set to receive a hefty weapon tuning update at the beginning of June and a few more details have just been shared by developer 343 Industries, including the fact that players will be able to preview the changes via live streams.

Halo 4 may have been released last year but developer 343 Industries is continuing to make changes and tweaks to the game's multiplayer, like with the upcoming May 20 matchmaking update that's going to deliver a fresh Forge Island community playlist.

Besides that update, 343 is also working on a much bigger balancing patch that should change how many weapons behave.

Some of those tweaks have been detailed in a new Halo Waypoint article by 343, focusing on the DMR and the LightRifle.

"After reviewing community feedback from past weeks, we felt it was necessary to clarify that the red reticle range (RRR) of the DMR has been reduced, and the RRR of the LightRifle has been increased to match this new range exactly (Note: this is different from reducing the DMR to the LightRifle’s original range)."

"What we’ve found in current testing is that the LightRifle is now a favorite weapon for long-range engagements, and in terms of kill time, a zoomed LightRifle currently outclasses the DMR. This has created a dynamic that allows the DMR to excel in a very specific range and role – at equal skill levels, LightRifle users will punish the DMR at range, and Battle Rifle and Carbine users will have an advantage at close range. "

343 is also looking to reduce the projectile spread of the Carbine and might even slightly increase the damage of the Magnum, in order to make it more valuable as a secondary weapon.

Players will be able to admire all these changes ahead of their release on June 3 through special live streams that will be organized by 343 Industries.

A special playdate will also take place on June 3, in which 343 staff will jump into the multiplayer playlists.
