Well, as it turns out, they're giving winners of the Halo 2 competition the chance to attend Microsoft's Halo 3 launch party in London on September the 25th. According to the official announcement, "the red carpet affair" will be hosted by US music superstar Pharrell Williams, who will allow the lucky few to play the FPS against their celebrity idols.

Also confirmed by the report is that the winners will receive copies of the Halo 3 Legendary Edition, including the highly collectable Spartan helmet, two bonus discs, and artwork. As for the Halo 3 launch party, it comes on the eve of XLEAGUE.TV's Halo 3 Team League, with a prize fund already set at 10,000 Pounds.

"This is XLEAGUE.TV's way of rewarding our players who strive to compete at such a high level," says Rob O'Farrell, Senior Producer. "We would like to thank Microsoft and look forward to Halo 3 paving the way for the next level in competitive eSports."

"This is the highest prize we have ever offered for any of our leagues or tournaments," says O'Farrell. "It's a sign of our faith in the Halo brand, and our commitment to the XLEAGUE.TV community who are huge fans of the game."

When XLEAGUE.TV first announced the tournament, they admitted Halo 3 had captured their attention for quite some time. Ray Mia, XLEAGUE.TV Channel Manager stated: "The launch of Halo 3 is a landmark in the gaming world. The prize fund of ?10,000 is a significant increase to our previous prize funds, but we felt it necessary to give such a game the prominence it deserves."
