Hurray Halo fans! The first Halo 3 tournament has been confirmed. A recent report claims that XLEAGUE.TV, the UK's first dedicated eSports television channel and website will be giving away no more, no less than ?10,000 for the first Halo 3 Competition. The 4 vs 4 tournament[admark=1] registration opens on 26th September to coincide with the game's release.

According to the same piece, Halo 3 had captured XLEAGUE.TV's attention for quite some time now. Ray Mia, XLEAGUE.TV Channel Manager said: "The launch of Halo 3 is a landmark in the gaming world. The prize fund of ?10,000 is a significant increase to our previous prize funds, but we felt it necessary to give such a game the prominence it deserves."

Not that Halo fans didn't have enough reasons to literally burst of joy on the 26th of September, but they also get the chance to immediately enter a competition to decide who's the Spartan (as in who's the man). The Xbox 360 is indeed a lucky console.

XLEAGUE.TV is the UK's first dedicated eSports channel and fully integrated website launched in May 2007, according to the official report in question. It broadcasts on Sky channel 279, offering a comprehensive range of services to its members including leagues and tournaments, customizable user profiles, match scheduling and club and team creation.

It has also been confirmed that by competing on XLEAGUE.TV, gamers can also win the opportunity to be invited to the studio for the chance to play on television. Here's their official website for more information. You can also just tune in to Sky Channel 279 for the same reasons.

The prize breakdown, according to the same report, looks a little something like this:

1st Place - ?5000 2nd Place - ?2500 3rd Place - ?1500 4th Place - ?1000

They say more is to be unveiled within the following weeks, so stay tuned. In the meanwhile, check out other headlines within our Games section.
