Not long ago, HTC revealed its new tablet PC, and it seems that one of our colleagues over at the Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona managed to take a few first-hand pictures of it.

As consumers no doubt know by now, quite a few tablets have been made official at the ongoing MWC 2011 trade show.

There were 10-inch Tegra 2-based models or tablets powered by other platforms, most, if not all, of them running the Android 3.0 operating system (Honeycomb).

Among others, Acer's Iconia Tab A500 and ASUS' Slider were showcased, as were HP's Touchpad, LG's Optimus Pad, Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Motorola XOOM.

HTC also made the official introduction of its Flyer, set to become widely available sometime during the second quarter of 2011.

Unlike many of its peers, it does not measure 10.1 inches in diagonal, featuring, instead, a display size of 7 inches whose native resolution is of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Its configuration is built around a 1.5 GHz application processor and includes 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, a 1.3 megapixel webcam on the front and a 5 megapixel camera on the back.

To these are added the predictable support for WiFi, Bluetooth and HSPA+ wireless capabilities, plus a 3.5mm audio jack, a built-in GPS and a microUSB connector.

Those that want to know exactly what the Flyer can be used for will most likely be intrigued by the possibility to stream movies over wireless and play mobile cloud games with OnLive, among other things.

The hardware is kept operational by a 4,000 mAh battery and is packed inside a casing measuring 195.4 x 122 x 13.2 mm and weighing 415.

In other words, one should easily be able to place it inside a jacked pocket and carry it wherever one happens to be headed.
