Confirmed last week by Bell and scheduled for a June 1st release, the HTC Wildfire S has just made its debut on the carrier's airwaves.

The smartphone is now available for purchase for $249.99 off-contract, or as low as $29.95 with a new three-year agreement.

Additional prices with select plans are also available, including $224.95 with a new one-year contract and $199.95 with a new two-year agreement.

The phone was previously listed as available for pre-order by Canadian retailer Baka Wireless, which mentioned that the Wildfire S will ship starting June 1.

By today standards, the HTC Wildfire S is on the entry-level side as it is powered by a slow 600 MHz processor.

However, customers will be happy to find that the phone is delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, complemented by HTC Sense UI.

Even though the Wildfire S is touted as a low-budget handset, it has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors support, 320 x 480 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

Furthermore, the phone packs 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone's display is protected against scratches and accidental drops by resistant Gorilla glass and sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash.

The HSDPA-enabled entry-level smartphone comes with integrated GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Packed with Google's full suite of apps, HTC Wildfire S allows users to access services such as Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk.

According to Bell, HTC Wildfire S is bundled with several of its services, such as: Live TV & Radio, Remote PVR, GPS Navigator, Self Serve and Tunes & Apps.
