Will arrive in June at the latter

Recently, Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the release of a new Android 2.1 handset, the HTC Wildfire, and carriers around the world already jumped on it, it seems. Among them, we can count UK wireless operators Virgin Media and T-Mobile, both of which officially announced plans to get the new device on their airwaves.

The new mobile phone has been announced to land on the market sometime in the third quarter of the ongoing year, and Virgin Media says that it will release it in the time frame, but offers no specific date for the move. The carrier has a nice range of pay-as-you-go plans available for its users, and one should expect for the new HTC Wildfire to prove a great addition to its handset offering.

“Good news! We'll have the hot new HTC Wildfire Android phone. […] tariffs TBA,” is what the carrier announced via Twitter. As for T-Mobile UK, it made the announcement in the same manner as Virgin Media, “The newly announced HTC Wildfire will be available to T-mobile customers from the 14th of June. A date for the diary.”

One thing that should be mentioned here is that T-Mobile seems set to make the phone available for purchase before the third quarter arrives. One might consider that an error slipped in that tweet, yet the carrier's website shows the same targeted release date in the coming soon section. HTC Wildfire is indeed expected to arrive at T-Mobile in June, less than one month from now.

The handset should come with some nice features to the carrier's network, and more info is available via the company's Twitter page, “A few details of the HTC Wildfire to whet your appetite, it's the first T-mobile handset to feature App sharing and has the Android 2.1 OS,” one tweet reads, while another continues, “The App-Sharing widget is an easy way to recommend apps to your fellow Android users.”
