The HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Touch Diamond2 are two of the devices that the Taiwanese mobile phone maker is highly expected to release on the market during the ongoing year. Both handsets were unveiled in February, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, yet no information on the availability and price they should sport has been disclosed until now.

The two smartphones are expected to come to the market featuring the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system, and they are even reported to actually sport the upcoming 6.5 version of the OS. According to the latest news on the web, the HTC Touch Pro2 is already available for pre-order on Expansys, which says that the device will be launched on June 5, so it might come with WinMo 6.1 after all, yet we are sure that it is eligible for an upgrade later this year.

HTC announced a while ago that the Touch Pro2 would be available all around the globe, and it is expected to come to the US market as well, perhaps with T-Mobile, though no details on when that will happed were spotted so far. However, now we have the smartphone listed on Expansys for pre-order, and we can get an idea on the price tag that it will sport, which seems to have been set at £452.17 ($661), or £519.99 including VAT.

It is uncertain whether the HTC Touch Pro2 will indeed sell for this amount when launched, given the fact that the pre-order cost also includes the so-called early adopter tax, so it might end up a little cheaper in the end. At the same time, in case the handset is offered by wireless carriers with a contract agreement, the acquisition price will change for sure. Hopefully, the June launch time frame for the mobile phone will become reality in the end, as it fits earlier reports that HTC would launch Touch Pro2 sometime in the summer.
