From Brando

The happy owners of HTC's Touch Diamond Pocket PC might get even happier after finding out that their precious handset can be improved when it comes to photography related performances. This is not done by a ROM update or anything like that, but thanks to a new telescope especially created for the Touch Diamond.

Offered by Brando, a Hong Kong based online retailer, the so-called "HTC Touch Diamond Mobile Phone Telescope" can be attached on the back of the handset in order to offer the equivalent of 6X digital zoom for its photo camera. Of course, the Diamond will not look as sleek as it does when no telescope is attached to it, but if you want to take good photos you have to think less about its overall beauty. After all, the telescope can be easily detached when you don't use the camera.

As proven in the Softpedia Touch Diamond review, the pictures made with HTC's handset are somehow mediocre and don't actually live up to the expectations (from a 3.2 Megapixel camera). Thus, the newly launched telescope might be of real help if you're interested in turning the Pocket PC into a "suitable for taking photos" device.

Touch Diamond owners who might want to try their luck with Brando's new telescope can buy it from this address, at a retail price of 19 USD (13 Euros). Since we haven't had the chance to test the telescope and see if it actually improves the capabilities of Diamond's camera, we won't advise you to buy it – but it's worth checking it out, that's for sure.

Brando is not at its first attempt to make mobile phones better photography tools, as the retailer released, in the past, other telescopes similar to the one for HTC Diamond – the latest being for Apple's iPhone 3G, one of Diamond's direct competitors on the touchscreen market.
