HTC ThunderBolt, the first smartphone that brought Google's Android operating system to Verizon's 4G LTE network, is now available for purchase for only $59.99 via Wirefly.

To benefit from the deal, users would have to commit to a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier, but that is also one of the requirements put in place at Verizon, where the device costs no less than $249 on contract.

Considering the specification that HTC ThunderBolt arrives on shelves with, the deal seems pretty appealing, that's for sure.

The handset was launched with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display on board, capable of delivering a WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution, and with a fast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside.

The mobile phone also sports 768MB of RAM and 7.5GB of ROM, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

“The Android-powered ThunderBolt by HTC is Verizon's first 4G LTE smartphone. The ThunderBolt is on Verizon's lightning-fast 4G LTE Network and has a next-generation processor so you can do more with your phone, in more places,” the retailer notes.

HTC also packed the ThunderBolt with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and with a front-facing camera for video calling.

“The front-facing camera is great for videochatting, while the 8 megapixel primary camera records in HD for amazing photos and videos on the go. Use the camera's Live Filters to manipulate photos and videos while in the moment,” Wirefly notes.

“When you are ready, share your images easily with messaging, DLNA streaming to your compatible HD TV, or quickly tag and upload to Facebook or YouTube.” The handset also comes with support of 4G LTE and CDMA networks, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, and with built-in GPS receiver. It sports Mobile Hotspot with support for up to 8 WiFi-enabled devices as well.
