Verizon Wireless customers in the United States interested in the purchase of a new handset running under Google's Android operating system can now take advantage of a special offering that Wirefly has put in place for two of the most appealing devices at the wireless carrier, the Motorola DROID X2 and the HTC ThunderBolt. When purchased with the signing of a new two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier, these devices would cost only $99.99 at this retailer. Wirefly lists both of them as available on Verizon's $59.99 monthly plan.

As stated above, both handsets come to the market with Google's mobile operating system on board, with Motorola DROID X2 running under Gingerbread, and with ThunderBolt by HTC being powered by Froyo.

Both are powerful handsets, with HTC's device being the first LTE capable smartphone to ever land on shelves at Verizon Wireless.

These Android devices sport 4.3-inch touchscreen displays each, as well as 8-megapixels photo snappers on the back, with HD video recording capabilities.

However, the DROID X2 by Motorola is a more powerful handset, with a dual-core application processor packed inside, although it lacks support for Big Red's 4G network.

“The DROID X2 by Motorola doubles your hustle with a super-speedy dual core 1GHz processor. Fly through the Web at warp speeds while Adobe Flash 10 lets you devour rich content and video,” the retailer notes on its website.

“Mirror Mode via HDMI shows your phone's display on your HDTV and lets you browse the web from your couch. A brilliant 4.3 inch qHD display delivers 26% more pixels than DROID X for incredibly razor-sharp resolution.”

Both handsets come with microSD memory card slots and with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, as well as fast access to networking sites like Facebook or Twitter.

With font-facing cameras for video calling and Verizon's Mobile Hotspot, the two handsets can deliver all of the features and capabilities that users would like to find in their smartphones.
