HTC Shift is one of the most powerful smartphones that HTC released in its latest unveiling. The device is one of the first mobile computers globally to offer Microsoft Windows Vista and push email, which makes it pretty special.

The new devices coming from HTC manage to pack only the latest technology and the Shift one goes as close as possible to what laptops have to offer. Its great advantage, when compared to such devices, is that it weighs only 800 grams. This makes it feel quite light, but would prevent it from standing one chance of comparison with regular mobile phones.

What HTC Shift has to offer more special than anything is the Windows Vista operating system. This proves the fact that its resources are great and earns it a place among the top mobile computers out there. The device is a 3G enabled one that relies on HSDPA connectivity for transferring data with speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps.

Another special thing about HTC Shift is that it brings the innovative new SnapVUE technology, recently developed by this producer. SnapVUE makes it possible to easily access emails, calendar, SMS messages and contacts, all without the need to fully boot up the device. This preserves power and extends battery life, an important aspect especially for those who intensely use their mobile computers.

The 7 inch touch sensitive "slide-n-tilt" screen scores some extra points for HTC Shift in terms of functionality. It makes it more responsive and easier to use than laptops, especially if considering the mobility that its small sizes and weight add to it. At 207 x 129 x 25 mm in size, it's at the same time compact and extremely powerful, a combination that many people might appreciate.

HTC Shift should start shipping pretty soon, for the price of EUR 1200.
