UK wireless carriers O2 and Orange are expected to make a new Android-based mobile phone available for purchase on their airwaves in early July, none other than the flagship HTC Sensation.

The smartpone was initially expected to arrive on shelves at these carriers before June was over, but it seems that it will reach them only at the end of the first week of July.

The latest reports on the matter suggest that Sensation will arrive at these two wireless carriers on July 8th, as soon as Vodafone's exclusivity period comes to an end.

At the moment, the HTC Sensation is available for purchase in the UK only on Vodafone, but it can already be pre-ordered on other networks in the country as well.

Various third-party retailers in the country already added the mobile phone to their offerings with contracts on O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Three.

However, none of the aforementioned wireless carriers made an official announcement on the availability of the device.

On O2's website, the HTC Sensation is listed as coming soon, with an expected release time frame of June, but nothing has been detailed on this so far.

Rumor has it that Vodafone's exclusivity on this device would extend to July 8th, and that other wireless carriers in the country will not have it available for purchase until then.

At Phones4U, the Sensation is expected to become available for O2 and Orange on July 8th, and this is the day when other carriers might add it to their offerings as well.

For the time being, however, the only thing that is known for sure is that Sensation is a Vodafone exclusive only for a short period of time.

The Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based mobile phone comes with a 1.2GHz application processor inside, with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, 8MP camera on the back, microSD memory card slot, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, video calling, and more.
