HTC Sensation, the high-end Android-based mobile phone that Taiwanese handset vendor HTC Corporation brought to the market several weeks ago with Google's Android operating system on board, should arrive on the market in Australia via wireless carrier Telstra soon. The company did not make an official announcement on the matter for the time being, but the handset can already be seen on a new Expressions Of Interest (EOI) page on the wireless carrier's website.

On that page, the HTC Sensation is joined by the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, which was already known to be on its way to the operator.

Update: The handset has been already removed from the said page, though it seems that it is still present on the page code.

Just as the guys over at Ausdroid note in a recent article, the emergence of Sensation on the said EOI page can only suggest that the release is near.

Of course, no specific release date was unveiled for the time being, nor is the possible availability of Sensation at Telstra definitely confirmed for the moment, but more on the matter might emerge on the near future.

In the meantime, provided that there are some of you who did not meet the HTC Sensation before, we should say a few words on the device itself, one of the most appealing handsets launched during the ongoing year.

The HTC Sensation packs a 1.2GHZ dual-core application processor inside, complemented by 768MB of RAM, and 1GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The handset sports a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a front-facing camera for video calling. It can also record videos in high-definition.

3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options were included into the mix as well, along with built-in GPS receiver, USB port, or the usual set of sensors.

The Sensation runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and sports the new HTC Sense 3.0 user interface loaded on top of it.
