A few weeks ago, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the upcoming availability of a new handset running under Google's Android operating system, the HTC Sensation, which should arrive in the United States as well, on the airwaves of T-Mobile, and which has just received the necessary FCC blessing for that.

When released on shelves at the wireless carrier, the device would also add the 4G moniker into the mix, since it would be released with support for the carrier's HSPA+ network.

At FCC, the mobile phone was spotted with the PG58100 model number attached to it, but only the label attached to the left was made available, other photos being held away from users' eyes.

The HTC Sensation 4G should be released in the United States with a 1.2Ghz dual-core application processor inside, and with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display on the front.

The available documents from FCC also confirm the existence of back- and front-facing cameras, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.

Moreover, the said docs show that it would arrive with support for T-Mobile's AWS airwaves, which does not come too much as a surprise, that's for sure.

As stated above, the phone sports the model number PG58100, and should not be mistaken for the rumored HTC Doubleshot (aka the MyTouch 4G Slide), which sports the model number PG59100 and has yet to receive the FCC approvals, Android Central notes.

For the time being, the one thing that is not certain is whether the mobile phone would sport the new HTC Sense 3.0 software at T-Mobile too, as it would in other markets.

T-Mobile is known to be delivering handsets with stock Android platforms, and the HTC Sensation 4G might suffer the same fate.

Even so, the new device still remains one of the most powerful and appealing Android smartphones set to arrive on shelves during the ongoing year. Its only true rival at the moment would be the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is already enjoying increased popularity on shelves.
