Wireless carrier Vodafone UK has just made the HTC Sensation smartphone available for pre-order for its users, only a few weeks after the device was officially unveiled to the world.

Packing a 1.2 GHz dual core application processor and a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, this is the latest flagship model from the Taiwanese mobile phone maker.

The new mobile phone, which runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, is listed at the wireless carrier as available for free on Pay monthly plans from £35 per month.

On Vodafone's website, users would also read that HTC Sensation units pre-ordered today are expected to ship to users “by the 19th May,” which means that the smartphone should arrive on shelves on or around that day.

In addition to the enhanced performance capabilities and the large and bright display, the new device also comes with impressive video recording capabilities, courtesy of an 8-megapixel photo snapper that HTC packed on its back.

“You can also take great photos of the trip with the Sensation's 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. The LED flash means shots after dark come out clearly, while face detection automatically focuses on everyone's faces when you're snapping away,” the wireless carrier explains.

“And with geotagging, you can easily remember where each shot was taken. Then when you want to catch up with everyone after you're back home, you can chat face-to-face with them by using the Sensation's 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.”

Other specifications of the new mobile phone would also include 3G and WiFi connectivity, along with 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot, with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The mobile phone also offers support for a wide range of Google Mobile Services, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

“The high-performing HTC Sensation has a 1.2 GHz, dual core processor built in - that's larger than the ones you'll find in the HTC Desire HD and Sony Ericsson arc,” Vodafone notes.

“Because this processor is so powerful, it makes web browsing really fast and easy when you're in an area with a good mobile phone signal.”
