Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is expected to bring to the market in the not-too-distant future a new high-end device running under Google's Android operating system, none other than the already leaked HTC Runnymede.

The new device was spotted into the wild a few weeks ago, and has just made another appearance on the Internet, this time around in what appears to be the first press photo with it.

Among the already available details on the new mobile phone, we can count the fact that it should arrive on shelves with a large 4.7-inch touchscreen display, the same as the recently unveiled HTC TITAN does.

However, unlike the already official smartphone, the yet-unannounced device will run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the guys over at Pocketnow note.

Chances are that, the same as the Windows Phone Mango-based handset, the HTC Runnymede will arrive on the market with a 1.5Ghz application processor packed inside, and that it will be a single core.

Moreover, the new smartphone might be released with 768MB of RAM inside, and with 16GB or 32GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot for expanding the available storage space should also be there.

The new device is rumored to be on its way to the market with a price tag of £530 ($838) for the 16GB model, unlocked, and priced at £560 ($885) when packing 32GB of internal memory, also unlocked.

For the time being, however, there are not too many details available regarding the release for this new mobile phone, though it might not be too long before HTC makes all of them official.

Apparently, the company might unveil plans on putting the new HTC Runnymede on shelves no later than September 20th, when it holds an event in New York City.

Of course, this is only a supposition for the time being, and the company might actually unveil a completely different device on that day, but keep an eye on this space for more info on the matter.
