Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation seems set to add its own touch to the operating systems it uses for its devices, and Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 platform is no exception.

Although Microsoft announced officially that the mobile operating system won't allow for too many OEM or carrier customizations, HTC says that things might change in the future.

According to the company, they are convinced that they would be able to, eventually, turn the interface of the OS into something that would resemble the already popular Sense user experience.

Of course, that would apply only to the company's Windows Phone 7 handsets, though no info on when would the changes start to emerge was unveiled for the time being.

“We have a good relationship with Microsoft so we’re continuing to work with them to figure out how to enable a Sense experience without breaking their model,” Drew Bamford, the company’s head of User Experience, stated, a recent post on Forbes reads. “Our expectation is that we will be able to do more over time.”

With Windows Phone 7, Microsoft announced plans to offer a consistent experience to its users, regardless the handset they plan on purchasing.

Apart from having each Windows Phone 7 device packing a minimum of hardware specifications, along with dedicated services and applications, Microsoft also imposed certain limitation to the amount of customizations that OEMs and carriers could add into the mix.

HTC said at one point that it would be able to offer a customized experience to its Windows Phone 7 users, and it seems that it was referring to providing them with some sort of a Sense UI, and not with the HTC Hub currently available on these handsets.

“HTC’s goal is for the Sense experience to span all of our products,” says Bamford. “Microsoft has its own goal of consistency across Windows Phone 7 products. I think it comes down to working closely with Microsoft to do as much as we can.”

Specific info on what the UI would include lack at the moment, but, provided that HTC's plans would be successful, we should be able to learn more on this in the near future.
