HTC One lineup of smartphones is about to make its debut in the UK. Although the Taiwanese handset maker confirmed that all three handsets in the HTC One series would be available on the market from April, several major retailers have already started taking pre-orders for some of these handsets.

According to SoMobile, HTC One V can now be pre-ordered in the UK via Intomobilephones online retailer. Android enthusiasts will be happy to know that the smartphone is available for free on select plans.

Customers who are willing to commit to a long-term contract can grab the HTC One V for at least £15.79 monthly on a 24-month O2 contract. T-Mobile UK is also offering the smartphone for free and customers get to choose from a slew of contract options.

HTC One V is the less-featured from the One series. However, this does not mean that it should be left out.

The smartphone is a the spiritual successor of the old HTC Legend, so expect this one to feature the same curved form factor and straight lines.

Obviously, the One V’s hardware and software configuration have been improved and updated in order to fulfill users’ needs. In this regard, the smartphone is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and runs HTC Sense UI on top.

In addition, HTC One V packs a 1GHz processor, 4GB onboard memory, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper, which features HTC’s Imaging technology, as well as autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

Unfortunately, the smartphone does not come with a secondary front-facing camera, so video calls are only possible using the rear camera. HTC One V also offers HSDPA, HSUPA and Wi-Fi support, as well as Beats Audio technology and deep social networking integration.
