Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has announced today the launch of its flagship Windows Mobile-powered handset Touch Pro2 in the Middle East. The new device is meant to offer users in the area increased simplicity, a unique style and an intuitive interface, while also providing great balance between cutting-edge technology, functionality and form.

The new mobile phone comes with enhanced voice capabilities, as the company's new Straight Talk technology provides an integrated email, voice and speakerphone experience. It offers users the possibility to seamlessly move from email to single or multi-party conference calls, while also enabling them to transform any place into a conference room.

Moreover, the new Straight Talk technology comes with a mechanical and acoustical design meant to provide a sophisticated speakerphone experience. It can offer a high-fidelity voice and sound experience, courtesy of its asymmetric speakers, as well as advanced noise suppression due to full duplex acoustics. When flipped, the HTC Touch Pro2 turns into a conference room speakerphone system.

“The HTC Touch Pro2 introduces a mobile communication experience that simplifies how we communicate with people in our lives whether through voice, text or email,” said Kevin Chen, general manager, HTC Middle East and Africa and CIS. “HTC is delivering the latest, cutting-edge sophistication in a broad portfolio of mobile phones that improve how people live, work and communicate.”

The specification list of the new handset includes HTC’s latest TouchFLO 3D interface, Windows Mobile 6.1 as its operating system, Push Internet technology, a 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display, a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper and a second VGA CMOS color camera, improved battery life, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and A2DP, Wi-Fi connectivity, gravity, proximity and ambient light sensors, and a memory card slot for additional storage space.

According to the company, the HTC Touch Pro2 will come to the market in the Middle East by the first week of July. The handset is distributed by SIT Distribution in the UAE, and features a price tag of AED 3299 (USD 899).
