Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new Android-based smartphone on its LTE network as soon as today, namely the HTC Incredible 4G.

Nothing was officially confirmed on the matter for the time being, but images with the device have already made it online, offering us a glimpse at what the device will look like.

Rumor has it that this will be a dual-core smartphone that will sport many of the features and capabilities that HTC has packed inside devices in its One series.

In fact, with different models in the series on their way to carriers such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, it was only a matter of time before details on Verizon’s new HTC device would emerge.

As you can see from the photos attached to this article, courtesy of Droid-life, the smartphone will run under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system (it sports only three buttons on the front). The smartphone will also pack HTC’s new Sense 4.0 on top of Android.

The rumored specifications list for this device also includes a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm application processor with Adreno 225 GPU, as well as 1GB of RAM for increased performance.

Moreover, the mobile phone is said to sport a 4-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a qHD resolution (which is lower than the 720p resolution that flagship devices can offer at the moment).

The smartphone is said to feature an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with a VGA camera on the front, to enable video calling.

When released on Verizon’s network, the new mobile phone will also provide users with access to LTE connectivity, which translates into fast download speeds, even when on the go.

The HTC Incredible 4G is expected to arrive at Verizon before the end of the month, or in the first half of May.
