The handheld is a TyTn without the 3G flavor.

Almost three weeks ago we have told you about the official announcement of the HTC Herald, a Pocket PC phone due to be released sometime this month in Europe, Africa and The Middle East (yes, the guys living stateside still have to wait for some time until getting their hands on this device). Now we got pictures of it and not any type of them but some pictures that have been taken by someone out there in the wild, not like the pretty ones we've seen before made in a protected environment by professionals.

The Herald, also known as the P4350, is a TyTn handset all stripped out of the 3G abilities (HSPDA or UMTS), this thing giving it a plus of slimness over its competition. This phone is only 17 mm thin which, compared to its other brothers launched by HTC, it is quite a super-model.

Even if you won't be able to get all 3G when you'll be on the go, there is enough to enjoy if you decide to buy it. The quad-band GSM P4350 handset has a side sliding full QWERTY keyboard, wireless Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP stereo support, a 2.8 inch 65k color QVGA touchscreen display, a 5 way navigational stick, a 2 megapixel digital camera, GPRS, Wi-Fi and EDGE connectivity, Direct Push e-mail technology, a microSD memory expansion card slot for those of you with a lot of love for big storage enabled mobile devices and a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system running on a 200 MHz processor with the help of 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB RAM built-in memory.

If you don't feel touched in your mobile phone soft spot and you are thinking this is still a little too thick for you, start considering the fact that this is a smartphone with a lot more on board compared to the slimmest cellphones at the moment. Therefore, forget about that X820 you were thinking of and compare it to a more suitable competitor, someone like the QteK 9100, a handset 6 mm thicker than the Herald we are talking about.

If you got my point and you're now with your feet on the ground and have stopped dreaming, you should know that the P4350 will be available in stores wearing a retail price tag of 735 $, a price that surely narrows down the number of customers going to take it home in the near future.
