Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has recently released a new software update for one of the handsets it brought to the market during the ongoing year, the HTC HD mini. According to the company, the new solution comes towards European users of a Windows Mobile-based HTC HD mini, while bringing a series of enhancements to the device.

“An updated ROM is now available for HTC HD mini users to download. As always, HTC is committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience,” the company states on its support website. Among the improvements the solution comes with, we can count: The trimmer bar will slide smoothly while trimming the mp3. Enhance the system performance and stability. Improves the ringtone sound quality.

Users should take note that the new ROM upgrade is being released as a generic software update, and that any specific settings or applications provided by a wireless carrier would be lost during the update process. Prior to the installation, users should check to see whether the new software is newer than the one on their devices. To check the ROM version, one would have to go to Start > Settings > System tab > Device Information > Version tab.

Following the update, the ROM version on the HTC HD mini should be: 1.36.482.1 in Greece, 1.36.410.1 in Portugal, 1.36.406.1 - France, 1.36.403.1 - Denmark, 1.36.408.1 - Italy, 1.36.401.1 - Europe, 1.36.412.1 - Spain, 1.36.411.1 - Russian Federation, 1.36.413.1 - Sweden, 1.36.407.1 - Germany, 1.36.404.1 – the Netherlands, 1.36.479.1 - East Europe, and 1.36.409.1 for Norway.

Users are advised to perform a back up of all personal files on their devices, so as to make sure that no important information is lost during the update process. Before starting the process, one should close all running apps on the device, while connecting the mobile phone to a Windows-based computer via a USB cable.The new Update is available for download from HTC 's website here.
