HTC Explorer, the latest cheap Android-based handset that the Taiwanese mobile phone maker unveiled to the world, is expected to become available for purchase in the UK before the end of October.

Apparently, online retailer Clove is expecting the new device to be in stock as of October 31st, although they initially said that late November is the targeted release window for the new device.

The HTC Explorer was unveiled only recently, with a compact design and with Google's Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system on board.

The handset is listed at Clove with a price tag of £192 attached to it, VAT included (around $300 / 220 Euros).

“The HTC Explorer has been designed to make life simpler and easier. It features an updated version of HTC Sense which makes keeping in contact with your friends and family a more enjoyable experience,” Clove UK notes.

“There is a 3.2” touchscreen display so you can enjoy your photos and movies while on the move. While the latest Bluetooth and WiFi technology has been included for quicker communication.”

The new device also packs a 3.2MP camera on the back, which enables users to shoot videos while on the go, and offers WiFi 802.11 b/g/n.

It also comes with a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space, as well as with a built-in GPS receiver and the usual set of sensors found in Android smartphones.

On top of all these, HTC loaded its own HTC Sense 3.5 user interface, which should provide users with a great experience.

“The updated HTC Sense makes it quick and intuitive to keep in contact, with it now being possible to be reminded of messages and your contacts details when they phone. Or why not benefit from the smart dialling which enables you to search for a contact by typing in there names or initials,” Clove explains.

“If you often send the same message to several friends the grouping options make it simple to group them together. This means that you can send one message to every person within that group.”
