A low-end device packing Android 2.3.5 and appealing features

Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has just announced the upcoming availability of a new smartphone, the HTC Explorer, an affordable handset that runs under Google's Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS, and features the HTC Sense UI on top.

The new mobile phone arrives on the market with a compact design, featuring a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that can deliver an HVGA resolution, and with a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The new mobile phone is expected to become available for purchase in various countries in EMEA and Asia starting with the fourth quarter of the year, in Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy.

At the same time, it will offer users the possibility to customize their HTC Explorer with a range of optional back covers that include Metallic Blue, Metallic Orange, Metallic White and Metallic Purple.

The upcoming device will offer users the possibility to easily stay connected with their friends and family through social networking sites, and also to enjoy fast Internet browsing while on the go.

The new device also comes with HTC Sense integrated, providing users with sharp graphics, vibrant animations, and with various widgets that can be used for customizing the experience users receive from their handset.

“HTC Explorer also includes a customizable lock screen that functions as a real-time window to the customer's most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply waking up the display,” the handset vendor also announced.
