HTC Evo View 4G, the special flavor of the HTC Flyer that should become available for purchase in the United States on the airwaves of Sprint in the not too far future, is expected to run under Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system right from the start. The tablet PC was unveiled to the world a few weeks ago, but the wireless carrier was not specific on the operating system version it would arrive on shelves with.

In all fairness, the fact that it would sport the tablet-optimized flavor of the mobile platform does not come too much as a surprise, since HTC promised it for the original Flyer as well.

However, it marks a shift from the initial tablet PC model, which should become available on shelves with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system flavor, as the Taiwan-based handset vendor announced in February, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The HTC Evo View 4G was unveiled during the CTIA Wireless conference a few weeks back, along with another new Android device for Sprint, the HTC EVO 3D.

They are both listed on Sprint's website, and those interested in staying up to date with their launch should head there to register their interest.

“Sprint recently announced these cool new 4G devices at the CTIA international wireless conference. Both offer 4G speeds in over 70 markets and 3G nationwide, and access to 150,000 apps in Android Market,” the wireless carrier notes on the said page.

On the same page, Sprint notes that the HTC Evo View 4G should arrive on shelves with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on board.

While nothing was officially announced, the listing does come as a confirmation on the matter, though we should wait for the formal announcement to be made to make sure of it. In the meantime, have a look at the said page on Sprint's website here.
