Wireless carrier T-Mobile UK has just made available for purchase one of the most expected mobile phones of this quarter, the HTC Desire. The new handset was officially unveiled to the world in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, when HTC announced it as arriving with Google's Android 2.1 operating system on board, and now UK users can enjoy its features on T-Mobile's airwaves.

The HTC Desire has been put on sale at T-Mobile UK for free upon the signing of a 24-month contract agreement with the carrier on a £35 per month price plan. Other options are also available for users, yet this is the lowest plan with which the device is offered for free, it seems. For example, the Desire is priced at £164.00 on a £10 per month plan, or at £60.00 on a £30 per month contract for a 24-month period. Additional details on the matter can be found on T-Mobile's website here.

“Everyone wants the HTC Desire – and it does pretty much everything. No wonder they’re calling it the superphone,” the wireless carrier notes on its website. Indeed, the HTC Desire includes a wide range of features and capabilities, and those who already encountered the Nexus One by HTC should be familiar with its specifications, given the fact that the two handsets are basically the same device. However, the difference between them is that Nexus One is being sold exclusively via Google's web store at the moment, while Desire comes with HTC's Sense solution on board.

What users will get when purchasing the HTC Desire includes a device that boasts a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, impressively fast performance courtesy of the 1GHz Snapdragon processor inside, a 5-megapixel photo snapper, support for a wide range of connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, multimedia features (TV on your phone, Mobile Jukebox, FM radio, audio and video players), Internet browsing, and more. The phone's battery can offer up to 7 hours 40 minutes of talk time or up to 340 hours of standby time, while the device measures 119 x 60 x 12mm and weighs in at 135g.
