Taiwan-based company HTC Corporation, a worldwide leading mobile phone maker, announced recently the release of three new handsets in Australia, namely HTC Snap, HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2. All three devices come to the market running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and are expected to receive an upgrade to the 6.5 iteration of the platform as soon as it becomes available.

“These three unique HTC devices focus around simplifying how we communicate, and will challenge and exceed your expectations around what a typical “business” phone is capable of achieving,” said Anthony Petts, Sales and Marketing director, ANZ, HTC Corporation. “These devices join HTC’s growing family of handsets, with 11 devices currently in the Australian market. HTC is focused on developing a broad portfolio of products that are innovative, stylish and customised to improve the user experience in every part of their lives.”

The new mobile phones come with a range of technology innovations, including the TouchFLO 3D user interface available on HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC TouchPro2, which is meant to provide a simpler and more intuitive navigation, as well as fast access to people, messaging, email, photos, music and weather. In addition, the two devices also come with a People Centric communication approach, which offers users the possibility to list conversation history of contacts in a single view, whether it is voice, email or text.

Other technology innovations available with the handsets include the Push Internet on both the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC TouchPro2, offering easier access to mobile Internet, as well as the Straight Talk technology available with HTC TouchPro2, which is meant to provide a more natural, intuitive and effective communication. The third new device on the Australian market, the HTC Snap, comes with “Inner Circle,” a feature that enables users to view preselected emails from a certain group of users with the simple touch of a button.

The HTC Touch Pro2 also comes with a 3.6-inch widescreen WVGA display, a large side-sliding finger-friendly QWERTY keyboard, and a 1500mAh battery, not to mention the expandable memory and the gravity and proximity sensors it includes. HTC Touch Diamond2 sports a 3.2-inch high-resolution widescreen WVGA display, along with a new touch sensitive zoom bar, an 1100mAh battery, and a 5-megapixel auto focus photo snapper.

HTC Snap comes in a candybar form factor, yet it still sports a QWERTY keyboard, as well as a slim, sleek profile. The phone packs a standard 1500mAh battery, high-speed 3G HSPA connectivity and easy access to social networking sites. Moreover, the handset also includes synchronization of email, calendar and contacts with the Microsoft Exchange server, proving to be a great option for business customers.

The HTC Snap will come to the market on Telstra's airwaves at first, the phone maker says. At the same time, it also mentions that HTC Touch Pro2 will come with Telstra, while HTC Diamond2 will be sold through Optus. More details on the price tags of the devices should emerge in the near future from the mobile phone carriers.
