Via Reliance Communication’s GSM network

Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has announced recently that its new HTC Touch2 handset, powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, has just been launched in India on Reliance Communication’s GSM network. The new handset can deliver a full touch experience to any mobile phone user out there, and RCOM becomes this way the first carrier in the country to have the Windows phone available for its customers.

The HTC Touch2 is a compact Windows Mobile device which delivers a familiar touch experience that our consumers relate to, have experienced in the past, and expect in the future from the house of HTC,” said Mr. Ajay Sharma, country head, HTC India. “The Touch2 expands HTC’s portfolio of touch-based phones and will deliver an advanced touch experience to a broader group of people whether it’s making a call, chatting with friends on Facebook or simply responding to an important email, the HTC Touch2 gives you an immense sense of control,” he also added.

What HTC Touch2 will deliver to users includes enhanced navigation and touch capabilities, due to an upgraded TouchFlo user interface, built-in GPS receiver with support for satellite navigation solutions like Google Maps, Opera Mobile and IE Mobile for a great web browsing experience, a Zoom Bar that enables users to view web pages or videos at the size they want, as well as a series of features brought into the equation by the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, such as easy syncing of Outlook, Calendar, Contact and Work, access to the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, and more.

The new HTC Touch2 has been launched in India with a special offer from Reliance Mobile: “as part of our value proposition, we are bundling six months Free Data Usage of 200MB per month. This bundled offer can be availed by the users of HTC Touch2 smartphone on Reliance Mobile network. Through this cutting-edge device, our customers will be able to enjoy a host of Windows Mobile Applications on our 3G ready network. The handset comes to Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh featuring a price tag of Rs. 24490/-, and will be available in the Rest of India for a price tag of Rs. 22490/- at all authorized HTC resellers across the country.
