O2 released for their network customers a slightly redesigned HTC Artemis with an O2 look, under the brand XDA Orbit, tagged by HTC with the name of HTC Cruiser. The handheld will have GPS, a pre-installed Tom Tom's navigation software with maps of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, on a 512 MB microSD memory card.

The device will have a Windows Mobile operating system that will bring all the huss and the fuss of the supported software (instant messaging programs, multimedia player and many other types of applications capable of running on the Windows Mobile OS).

The Orbit will offer connectivity through GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 with support for A2DP Bluetooth stereo, WLAN, Wi-Fi b/g, an FM radio and a 2 megapixel camera. A change in the HTC Artemis design is the Orbit's trackball/trackwheel HTC RollR for a much easier usage of the device.

The handset can be bought from O2 Germany for 249.99 euros with a 24 month "O2 Genion plus Genion-Flatrate" service agreement, and for 619.99 euros without any kind of contract.
