The handset runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS

In addition to the Samsung Galaxy S II, wireless carrier T-Mobile also made available for pre-order the Android-based HTC Amaze 4G. The mobile phone has been listed on the carrier's website in two different color flavors, namely Black and White, and can be seen here and here, respectively.

The handset features a price tag of $259.99 (around 193 Euros) at the wireless carrier, with the signing of a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Some of the main features of the new device would include:

- Take and share photos fast, with zero shutter lag and 4G speed - Capture fantastic group photos with SmartShot, panoramas with SweepShot, multiple pics with BurstShot and more - Easily create an album of your best shots with Perfect Pics.

The new smartphone arrives on shelves with a large 4.3” qHD touchscreen display, with a fast application processor complemented by 1GB of RAM, and with support for the wireless carrier's fast 4G HSPA+ network.

“The HTC Amaze will amaze you with sleek design and stunning speed - not only is it one of the fastest phones on America’s Largest 4G Network, but it also offers our latest most advanced camera of any smartphone,” T-Mobile explains.

The new device also packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 2MP camera on the front, for video calling.

“With quality worth printing, now you can really enjoy those special moments captured on your device. You can also share them with family and friends by sending them to any e-mail address, T-Mobile camera phone, or MyAlbum,” T-Mobile notes.

Moreover, the new HTC Amaze sports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with a built-in GPS receiver, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The smartphone is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and offer support for various Google Mobile services, as well as for applications and games available for download via the Android Market.

The new mobile phone packs a 1730 mAh battery, capable of delivering up to 6 hours of talk time, or up to 11 days of standby time.
