A few days ago, I showed you a leaked picture showcasing PC builder’s Energy Star qualification list, on which an elusive HP 11-inch ChromeBook could be spotted. Not much time has passed and an unpublished store listing popped up, adding some specs to the story.

Today, however, HP has just officially announced its ChromeBook 11, thus stepping out of the realm of speculation.

The notebook will feature an 11.6-inch IPS display and a Samsung Exynos 5250 dual-core processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM. Of course, the designated OS is Google’s Chome.

Right about now should be a good time to mention the free 100GB of Google Drive storage space for 2 years, which comes with the purchase. On top of that, customers will also receive a welcomed 60-day free trial for Google Play Music All Access.

The ChromeBook will also offer microUSB, SlimPort dedicated to video out, VGA webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The machine will be available in black and white, with the white models featuring playful color accents ranging from red and blue to green and yellow.

HP has really designed a nice Chromebook here and those excited to grab one won’t have to wait long, as it will be available starting October 16, for the stimulating price of $280 / €206.
