When it comes to Chromebooks, HP has so far limited itself to releasing a 14-inch model with a 1366 x 768 pixel density, but users looking for a Chrome device with a smaller screen had to turn to competing companies like Samsung or Acer to get what their heart’s desire.

However, the folks over at Engadget have stumbled upon an HP document which seems to indicate that the PC manufacturer is working on a smaller Chromebook with an 11-inch display. The announced device apparently showed in PC builder’s Energy Star qualification list.

An update came later, showing an unpublished store listing which brought to light some of the specifications of the smaller Chromebook. It appears the new device will be thinner and lighter than its 14-inch brother and will sport a battery life of 6.5 hours. Customers will also get 100GB of Google Drive for 2 years.

More information is not known at the moment, like what kind of processor will HP choose to pack inside or price margin, but we’ll let you know as more will be unveiled.
