HIS seems to be making liberal use of its special cooling technologies lately, especially when it comes to Radeon HD series graphics adapters, the most recent victim, so to speak, being the HD 6790.

NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices may have their respective series of graphics adapters, but they would not be nearly as successful as they are without their manufacturing partners.

Said OEMs compete against one another by means of special cooling technologies and by using factory overclocking when possible.

HIS is one of those outfits, and its most recent application of the IceQ X cooling technology was made on the AMD Radeon HD 6790.

This announcement comes a fairly short while after the unveiling of the 6850 and 6950 IceQ X and IceQ X Turbo.

Essentially, the HIS 6790 IceQ X Turbo is a factory-overclocked version of the recently-introduced, mainstream graphics adapter.

It has the GPU working at 900 MHz instead of just 840 MHz, while the 1 GB of GDDR5 VRAM are clocked at 4,400 MHz (stock board has 4,200 MHz).

What's more, 800 Stream processors are present, along with a memory interface of 256 bits, plus five display outputs.

Besides the HDMI connector, the manufacturer was sure to add a pair of mini DisplayPorts and dual-DVI.

What this means is that, among other things, the Eyefinity technology is supported, meaning that one will be able to use multi-display (three) setups for gaming and multimedia.

Other specifications include the obvious DirectX 11 support (for “stunningly realistic gaming”) and the EyeSpeed technology.

“The combined configuration delivers dramatic visual and gaming experience, making it the ultimate solution for performance gamers,' says the press release.

The official product page of the newcomer has already been set up on HIS's website, but the outfit has, so far, said nothing on availability.
