HIS did one of those things again, namely unveil a whole set of new graphics cards instead of just one or two, and it looks like four of them are factory-overclocked boards based on a certain AMD controller.

The Advanced Micro Devices Radeon HD 6850 graphics adapters seems to be one of those mainstream-level controllers with a nice level of popularity.

Either way, if it is not that widespread yet, it probably will be once HIS, and its various rivals, get finished with launching new iterations of it.

Basically, the company, not long ago, brought forth no less than six HD 6850 models, two of which (HD 6850 IceQ X) we already covered here.

Alongside them, the more powerful HIS HD 6950 2GB IceQ X Turbo and HIS HD 6950 1GB IceQ X Turbo were showcased.

Like the other pair, the two are different form each other only through their amount of VRAM, as seen from their names.

That said, the GPUs (graphics processing units) have clock speeds of 840 MHz, while the GDDR5 memory works at 5,120 MHz.

The memory interface was left unchanged (it is of 256 bits), while Eyefinity setups are possible thanks to the existence of dual-DVI, HDMI and mini DisplayPort.

The remaining two models are also the strongest of the three pairs, being dubbed HIS HD 6950 2GB IceQ X TurboX, and HIS HD 6950 IceQ X TurboX.

Their major asset is the GPU frequency of 880 MHz, while the VRAM also works faster than on the others, at 5,200 MHz to be exact. The rest of the specifications are unchanged.

Of course, like on all AMD 6000 series adapters, DirectX 11 graphics are supported, as is stereo 3D gaming and Blu-ray 3D, thanks to the HD3D technology, though a pair of glasses will be required.
