BoneTone Communication, an Israeli chip solution provider for mobile devices has just announced the launch of its HDClear chip solution for headsets (both wired and wireless, including Bluetooth) and phones (mobile or cordless). According to the company, the HDClear is the only chip on the market that “fully removes all background noise for far end-users and ensures uninterrupted indoor and outdoor voice calls, regardless of surrounding noise levels.”

The company claims the solution can completely remove background noise such as family members talking, babies crying, televisions, radios, sound systems, pets and others.

External noises such as neighbors, maintenance work or outside traffic are also easily removed by the HDClear chip, as the company suggests.

From the user's perspective this is very useful when one is trying to speak on the phone while in a noisy area, or simply to avoid revealing the location due to surrounding sounds.

Furthermore, BoneTone's chip solution can even replace background noise with any other sound.

“HDClear provides complete user privacy, as user locations are not disclosed by background noise, which is either fully eliminated, or alternatively, can be replaced with any preferred background sound,” the company stated.

Another interesting trait of the chip solution is the low power consumption in talk and standby modes.

The main features of the HDClear chip solution include:

- Small form factor, single-chip solution; - Superior noise cancellation – fully removes background noise for far end-users; - User privacy – recipient of HDClear voice calls do not hear background noise; - Background replacement – users can replace ambient noise with any background sound (optional); - Direct connection to bone conduction and acoustic microphones; - Seamless connectivity support for Bluetooth and wireless chips.

Apparently, HDClear chip samples, as well as any reference designs will only be available in Q1 2011.
